Where to stay for your Far West Texas Big Bend getaway!

“We spent five nights here recently and we loved it! Everything was great from the greeting we received when we got there to our spot… with the wonderful view!”–Kim T.

Terlingua Ranch Lodge resort, a Big Bend vacation destination, offers rustic accommodations, convenient amenities, engaging activities and scenic attractions.

Terlingua Ranch Lodge is owned by the Property Owners Association of Terlingua Ranch, Inc. (POATRI), a not-for-profit corporation. POATRI represents some 5,000 property owners who collectively own Terlingua Ranch, nearly 200,000 acres of unique, remote and rugged natural beauty in the Rio Grande Big Bend region of West Texas.

The Lodge is located in south Brewster County with Big Bend National Park to the east and Big Bend Ranch State Park to the west. It covers 425 acres and consists of the main office with front desk and gift shop, the Bad Rabbit Cafe, guest cabins, RV sites, private campsites and open campgrounds, an airstrip, a horse corral, a swimming pool, bathhouse, laundrymat and many other amenities. Our office is open 7 days a week, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

We are in the Chihuahuan Desert and it is best to have a full gas tank when you leave Alpine heading south on Texas Highway 118. The nearest bank is in Study Butte. The nearest pharmacy is in Alpine. And although we have a restaurant on the grounds, you may want to bring drinks and snacks with you. We do sell ice.

From TX-118 drive 62 miles south from Alpine or 18 miles north from Study Butte then turn east at the large Terlingua Ranch sign. Follow Terlingua Ranch Road for 16 miles. The first 13 miles are paved, the remaining three miles are a well maintained dirt and gravel road accessible by most vehicles (including motorcycles ▶️).
